The US stock market

Hello Everyone

Once again yesterdays "markets" had a mixed ending, with the Nasdaq closing in the "red" while the Dow & S&P 500 closing in the ""Green", with both hitting new "Close" highs.

Nothing looks special on the cards today, as investors wait for tomorrows US ADP Non-Farm Employment Change 1.15pm (BST) & US Trade Balance 1.30pm (BST).

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16743.63 +26.46 (+0.16%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4237.20 -5.42 (-0.13%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1924.97 +1.40 (+0.07%)

Yesterday "Gold" continued to creep closer to the 1240 mark (1240.90) before "Close" (1243.56) as China took a holiday, only to show slightly up at it current price 1245.75 as the Chinese economy showed a few signs of steadying the "boat" after the last few months.

Hello Everyone

Yesterday saw all three "markets" in the "Red" in what turned out to be a slow days trading.
With both the ADP Non-Farm Employment Change & Trade Balance showing a possible slight weakness and the ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI 3.00pm (BST) "Forecasting" a rise, it could be a down and up day ahead.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16722.34 -21.29 (-0.13%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4234.08 -3.12 (-0.07%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1924.24 -0.73 (-0.04%)

Gold showed a bit of green at the "Close" yesterday (1244.67) and currently sits at 1245.17 as investors await the US economic data.

Good luck

Hello Everyone

All three "markets" bounce off a better than expected SM non-manufacturing index, rising to 56.3 in May, "Forecast" 55.5, with the S&P 500 breaking new ground.

Hello Everyone

All three "markets" ended in the "Green" yesterday, with the S&P 500 once again hitting new highs.

US Unemployment Claims 1.30pm (BST) "Forecast" 309k up from "Previous" 300k looks the pick of today's reports, were a score below 300k could work wonders for the upcoming nonfarm payrolls report tomorrow.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16737.53 +15.19 (+0.09%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4251.64 +17.56 (+0.41%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1927.88 +3.64 (+0.19%)

Gold current price: 1243.93

The ADP data were much worse than expected. Market expectations were for a 210,000 reading, but it was only 179,000.
So the expectations for the NFP today are 218,000 and I think they will be 187,000 worse than expected.
EURUSD, GOLD should rise and the Indexes should fall!!
Could this be a sign of a potential correction in the markets?

Hello honeill

It turned out to be another good day at the office for all the "Buyers" yesterday as all three finished in the "Green" with the S&P 500 breaking the 1940 mark as it snakes its way towards the 2000 mark.

Non-Farm Employment Change & Unemployment Rate 1.30pm (BST) looks bad for the feel good "buyers" among us, but a bit of "green" surprise if the "experts" is wrong, could make it another good day at the office.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16836.11 +98.58 (+0.59%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4296.23 +44.58 (+1.05%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1940.46 +12.58 (+0.65%)

Gold made a small run yesterday towards ending the first trading week of the month in the "Green"

Current price: 1253.55

Good luck
Liz

Hello Everyone

All three "markets" will be trying to make it 4 days in a row by "Close" in the "Green", and with no real data in the pipeline today, they might just do it.

Close of trading:

The Dow Jones Global Indexes: 16924.28 +88.17 (+0.52%)

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4321.40 +25.17 (+0.59%)

The S&P 500 Index: 1949.44 +8.98 (+0.46%)

As predicted, "Gold" finished in the "Green" on the "Weekly" chart as last weeks Non-Farm Employment Change & Unemployment Rate (Friday) made fools (Gold) out of the "experts".

Current price: 1254.49

Good luck

Nasdaq Composite Index: 4297.63 -34.30 (-0.79%)
